Get Help From A Personal Injury Attorney

Posted on: 3 March 2022

An injury at work can be a serious problem. You may end up missing a lot of work because of your injuries as well as having to deal with a lot of medical stuff. If your injury wasn't caused by anything that you did, you may be entitled to compensation from your employer, especially when it comes to paying for your medical bills and possibly covering your bills from missing work. But, it isn't always that easy when it comes to getting your money. In that case, you may have to get legal help from a personal injury attorney. You want to make sure that you are getting the right attorney for you.

Payments

One way to find out if the personal injury attorney you are talking to is the right one for you is to ask how and when they get paid. Most personal injury attorneys work on something called contingency. That means that the attorney doesn't get paid until your case is won. Then they will take a percentage of your settlement. How much they take depends on several things. That includes what the rules are in your state as well as your particular attorney. Make sure that you know upfront how much they are will get when you win. The nice thing about having an attorney that works on contingency is that you aren't going to have to worry about coming up with the money to pay for the attorney to get them to take your case.

Success Rate

Another way to find out if you are getting the right attorney is to ask about their success rate. That number would include the percentage of cases that they have won versus how many they have lost. When you are asking the attorney about their win percentage, ask them how many cases they have taken in total. A 95% win rate can sound impressive, but if that is 95% out of 5 cases it isn't quite as good as if it were 95% of 500 cases. So, make sure that you get that information from them.

If you have been hurt at work, you want to make sure that you are able to get help from an attorney who is going to fight for you and help you win your case. Find a personal injury attorney who will work with you and help you win your case and get what you may be entitled to.
